What's built
PDF-to-Course Pipeline
- Upload a PDF, AI extracts atomic facts with concept tags and difficulty levels
- Facts grouped into concept clusters with importance and suggested order
- Chunk-level processing with retry support for large books
Spaced Repetition Study
- SM-2 algorithm scheduling reviews at optimal intervals per fact
- AI-generated questions on-the-fly from facts (not stored, always fresh)
- Study sessions with progress tracking (mastered, learning, due, new)
Dashboard & Course Management
- Course overview with clusters, facts, and processing status
- Flag individual facts for review or removal
- Retry failed processing chunks without re-uploading
What's next
Authentication & Multi-User
Move from single-user local mode to proper accounts. Email auth, user-scoped data, and the foundation for sharing Learnedly with others.
Cloud Deployment
Migrate from local SQLite to a hosted database. Get the app running in the cloud so anyone can use it — not just on my laptop.
Improved Study Experience
Better question types beyond multiple choice. Explanation mode where the AI walks you through concepts you missed. Streak tracking and daily goals.
On the horizon
Mastery-Based Progression
MathAcademy-inspired mastery system. Prerequisites between concepts, adaptive difficulty, and a knowledge graph that shows how ideas connect across your books.
More Content Sources
EPUB support, web articles, YouTube lectures. Anything with knowledge worth retaining should be able to become a course.
Personal AI Tutor
An agent that knows what you've learned, what you're struggling with, and what to teach you next. Conversational review sessions. Socratic method, not flashcards.
Mobile App
PWA first, then native. Study on your commute, in line at the coffee shop, wherever you have five minutes. Push notifications for due reviews.
